CASTELO DE S. JORGE, BRANDING
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Castelo de São Jorge is one of the main Lisbon attractions, being the most emblematic architectural building in the city for historical and symbolic purposes.

VISUAL ASSETS
COLOUR
Colours were adopted in accordance with the WCAG 2.2 directives (Content Accessibility Guidelines) https://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG22/
AAA – Maximum level of accessibility
AA – Acceptable for most online services,
it works with most assistive technology solutions on desktop and mobile devices.

VISUAL ASSETS
COLOUR
The colour pallette derives from real-world, site-collected colours. The colours were then adapted to a grayscale pattern so they could be distinguishable by the visually impaired.

VISUAL ASSETS
BRAND ECOSYSTEM
Inspired by each physical space of the Castle of São Jorge, four graphic shapes were created.
Their representation helped us on building a coherent visual language that references elements of the real world.

VISUAL ASSETS
FLEXIBLE DESIGN GRIDS
We created two adaptable grids that empower our clients to design content based on the desired level of formality—whether a more social and relaxed approach or a structured, formal tone.
These grids provide alignment for both graphic and verbal content, ensuring consistency while allowing flexibility to match the communication style.

SITE SPECIFIC SIGNAGE
CLEAR, COMPLIANT, AND COHESIVE
We developed a signage system designed for maximum visibility while ensuring full compliance with ISO 7001:2007 standards—except for two carefully considered exceptions that seamlessly integrate with the overall visual communication.
Our approach not only adhered to existing wayfinding courses but also enhanced them with strategic recommendations for new signage placement, optimizing visitor experience across key attractions and site highlights.
